This standard protection is called “Released Value Protection” and covers your belongings at a rate of $0.60 per pound per item. So if a 20-pound television valued at $800 were damaged, you would receive $12 under this coverage. This basic level is included in your moving cost at no additional charge, but it is minimal.
What Is Full Value Protection?
Full Value Protection requires the mover to either repair a damaged item, replace it with a comparable item, or make a cash settlement based on current market value. This offers significantly more protection than Released Value, but typically comes at an additional cost.
